This is another one of my grandmother's recipes. It is a side dish of cabbage prepared with coconut, that goes well with rice and sambar.

- 3 Cups cabbage, finely chopped
- 1/2 Cup grated coconut
- 2-3 Green chilles, slit in the middle
- 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 Tsp chilli powder
- 1 Tsp mustard seeds
- 1 Tsp cumin seeds
- 1 Inch chunk of onion
- 6-8 Curry leaves
- 2 Tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
How to..
- In a mixer/blender, grind together the grated coconut, onion, cumin seeds, turmeric and chilli powder into a dry paste.
- Heat oil in a large non stick pan. Add the mustard seeds to it and wait for it to splutter.
- Now add the curry leaves and the slit green chillies. Fry for about 30 seconds.
- Add the chopped cabbage and mix well. Now add the coconut mixture and salt and mix again.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes till the cabbage is well done. Serve hot.
