Egg-less Veg Omelette

Yes, this is an omelette without eggs. Made with gram flour, it is a quick recipe for breakfast.


What you'll need..
  • 1 Cup gram flour (Besan)
  • Little less than 3/4 Cup water 
  • 1 Small onion finely chopped
  • 1 Small tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli chopped
  • 1/2 Tsp cumin seeds 
  • 1/4 Tsp chilli powder
  • 1 Tbsp chopped cilantro leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste
How to..
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together gram flour and water to make a smooth batter, neither too thick nor too runny.
  • To this add the cumin, green and red chilli, salt, chopped onions, tomatoes and cilantro leaves. Mix well.
  • In a non stick flat pan, heat about a tsp of oil. Then spread about 1/3 cup of the batter till its flat and round. Don't spread the batter too thick.
  • Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes till its looks brown and the edges look crispy. Then flip to the other side and cook another 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve hot with ketchup.
