Mushroom Masala

This yummy mushroom dish is so easy to make, you can't go wrong. Adapted from "Best Ever Indian" by Parragon Books Ltd.



What you'll need..
  • 250 gm Button mushrooms cut in half or in thick slices
  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Small onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped
  • 2 Tsp garlic paste
  • 1 Tsp cumin powder
  • 1 Tsp coriander powder
  • 1 Tsp chilli powder
  • 1 Tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp chopped cilantro or chives
  • Salt to taste
How to..
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add onions and chilli and cook for 4-5 mins till onions turn pink.
  • Add garlic paste and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Add cumin, coriander and chilli powder and cook for another minute.
  • Add the mushrooms, salt and ketchup and mix well.
  • Sprinkle 2 Tbsp water over the mushrooms and on low heat cover and cook for 8-10 minutes,stirring occasionally, till the sauce thickens. 
  • Mix in cilantro/chives and serve hot.
