Green Coconut Chutney

This is the perfect dipping sauce for all your south Indian snacks.. Idli, dosa, vada, you name it.


What you'll need..
  • 1 Cup grated coconut
  • 1 Inch chunk of onion cut into pieces
  • 1 Inch piece of ginger cut into pieces
  • 1-2 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 Tbsp cilantro leaves
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 Tsp mustard seeds
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 2 Dried red chillies
  • Salt to taste
How to..
  • Grind together grated coconut, onion, ginger and green chilli into a smooth paste along with some water.
  • Now add the cilantro leaves and salt and grind again. Remove from the grinder into a serving bowl.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds to it. Wait for it to splutter. 
  • Add the curry leaves and dried red chillies and fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the hot oil concoction over the chutney and mix well.
