Potatoes and okra are a great combination and here's an easy, everyday recipe for it.
What you'll need..
What you'll need..
- 300 gm chopped bhindi, fresh or frozen (Okra)
- 1 Medium potato, cut into pieces
- 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 Tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 Tsp garam masala
- 1 Tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 Tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 Tsp cumin seeds
- 2 Tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
How to..
- Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add the mustard and cumin seeds to it and wait for them to splutter.
- Add the okra and potatoes, mix well and then cover with a lid and cook on high heat for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Don't worry about the sliminess, it disappears as the okra cooks.
- Add salt, turmeric, chilli, garam masala, and coriander powder and mix well.
- Continue to cook without the lid for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, till the potatoes are well done. Serve hot.
