This is an easy Indian appetizer recipe that's great on its own or with popular Indian street food, Ragda Patties.
What you'll need..
- 3 Medium potatoes boiled
- 1/4 Cup bread crumbs. I make mine at home by grinding left over slices of bread in the blender.
- 1 Tsp roasted cumin, roughly crushed (or cumin powder)
- 1 Tsp coriander powder
- 1 Tsp garam masala
- 1 Tsp chilli powder
- 1 Tsp amchoor powder (Dried mango powder)
- 2 Green chillies chopped
- 2 Tbsp cilantro leaves chopped
- 3 Tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
How to..
- In a large mixing bowl, peel and mash the boiled potatoes.
- Add bread crumbs, roasted cumin, coriander powder, garam masala, chilli powder, amchoor, green chillies, cilantro and salt and mix well.
- Rub a little oil between the palm of your hands and form golf ball size balls with the potatoes and then flatten them to 1 cm thickness.
- Heat oil in a non stick flat pan.
- Add the flattened potato cutlets and fry on medium heat till they turn crispy and golden brown. Then flip and turn to the other side. Serve hot with cilantro chutney.
